The Florida Health and Human Services Board, Inc., is composed
primarily of persons who have served on the Statewide Health and Human Services
Board that was abolished by the Florida State Legislature in 2000.
FHHSB is a statewide
organization comprised of Floridians, from Key West to Jacksonville, who are
concerned that the people in local communities of Florida should be well
informed about the problems they face in the domains of health and human
services. We feel so strongly about these issues that we volunteer to carry on
without state mandate and without state support.
FHHSB has as its primary
mission that the people in local communities should be well informed of their
situation, not just knowledge of the problems they face but also knowledge of
the resources and promising practices available to address problems.
FHHSB, as a not-for-profit
corporation, may engage in any activity or business permitted under the laws of
the United States and the State of Florida, including but not limited to needs
assessment, evaluation, research, communication, education and advocacy
relevant to prevention, early intervention, and treatment of conditions and
problems that threaten the well-being of children and families, the elderly,
and, in fact, any persons in the counties and communities of Florida.
FHHSB invites all persons
and organizations to join in this effort toward ensuring local community input
into statewide decision making on health and human services.
