Will things improve?

So, the Sarasota YMCA loses the foster care contract in Pinellas and Pasco counties, and in the next weeks or months Florida's Department of Children and Families will let a new contract to some other private agency to take on the task.

I wish that we could be assured that yet another change in the lead agency contract will be good for the children of Pinellas and Pasco counties.

Had the Legislature given local community alliances some say in lead agency contracts when it privatized foster care and abolished the district health and human services boards, the children might be better protected.
